How GameCap values items
Different games need different answers to "what is this worth?". GameCap uses three value models and labels every game with the one it uses.
Market games
CS2, Dota 2, Rust, TF2, Old School RuneScape, Path of Exile and Warframe have real player markets, so their prices update automatically from live trading data. Demand is derived from listing counts or trade volume within each game.
Hybrid games
Roblox Limiteds and Pet Simulator 99 combine each game's own market signal โ recent average price (RAP) and copies in circulation โ with curated values. Items whose RAP looks manipulated are flagged as "projected".
Community games
Adopt Me, MM2, Blox Fruits, Grow a Garden and Jailbreak have no public market. Their values are curated by the GameCap value team, audited through a change log, and challenged by trader votes on shared trades.
Guard rails
Automated updates apply small moves immediately, need several confirming runs for large moves, and freeze entirely if a third of a catalog moves at once. Updates that keep failing are paused automatically instead of retried endlessly.
